AI memory privacy

Private AI Memory With Permission and Audit Controls

See the privacy controls that matter when an AI can retrieve durable files and Memories: least privilege, provenance, audit, and revocation.

An everyday example

Useful access with a visible end date

A nonprofit board chair authorizes one assistant to search approved meeting packets. It cannot write Memories or delete files. The chair reviews activity after the meeting and revokes the connection before handing the role to a successor.

  1. 1

Use least privilege. Grant only the read, search, or write capabilities the task requires.

  2. 2

Verify provenance. Check source and creator details before relying on retrieved knowledge.

  3. 3

Close the loop. Review activity and revoke the connection when it is no longer needed.

Plain answers

What to know before connecting an AI

Does DiskDrive automatically remember every chat?

No. Durable Memory writes are explicit. DiskDrive does not silently convert every conversation into permanent memory.

How is access limited?

An AI receives only the scopes approved for its own connection. Authorization is enforced by deterministic policy, not by model judgment.
