Why DiskDrive exists

The useful work should outlive the AI session.

AI assistants are increasingly capable, but files, decisions, and durable context are still scattered across temporary chats and vendor accounts. DiskDrive gives the person a separate system of record.

“I want my files and useful AI memories to remain mine and work across multiple AI assistants.”

A simple ownership model

The user owns a private Space. Files and explicit Memories live there. Each AI is an authorized client with narrow permissions, visible activity, and independent revocation. The archive remains when the user tries a different model or chooses a different assistant for the next task.

Vendor-neutral by design

DiskDrive’s core services are not built around one AI vendor. Remote MCP provides the current standards-based connection boundary, while provider-specific behavior stays outside the core domain.

Deliberate memory, not invisible surveillance

Persistent memory is useful when it is explicit, inspectable, and correctable. DiskDrive does not silently make every conversation permanent. Durable knowledge keeps its source and history so a future assistant can use it with appropriate caution.
