Public documentation

Connect a compatible AI without sharing a password or token.

DiskDrive uses a remote MCP endpoint and a browser-based OAuth 2.1 flow. The person signs in to DiskDrive and approves scopes; secrets should never be pasted into an AI conversation.

Quickstart

Five steps from setup to a safe first request

  1. Check the host. Start with the public compatibility matrix.
  2. Add the server. Enter https://mcp.diskdrive.ai/mcp as a remote MCP server.
  3. Use the browser flow. Sign in to DiskDrive in the window opened by the client.
  4. Review scopes. Approve only the capabilities needed for the task.
  5. Start read-only. Ask the AI to list what it can access before saving anything.

Scopes

Connection does not mean unlimited access

List and search

Discover only the files and Memories the connection is authorized to see.

Read

Retrieve an authorized file or Memory after policy evaluation.

Write

Create an explicit Memory or save a file; this does not imply deletion.

Delete or manage

A separate, higher-impact capability that should be granted only when needed.

Safe examples

Useful first requests in ordinary language

“List the DiskDrive resources you can access. Do not change anything.”
“Find the approved trip research and identify the source of each item you use.”
“Save this final checklist as a file only after I confirm the name and folder.”
“Remember this preference explicitly and record that I supplied it today.”

User control

Disconnect an AI without losing the archive

Open Connected AI in DiskDrive, select the specific connection, and revoke it. Other AI connections and the user’s retained files and Memories remain intact. Account settings also provide export and account-deletion workflows.

Security boundaries

The model is never the final access-control authority

DiskDrive evaluates policy before durable access, keeps tenant search isolated, treats retrieved content as untrusted data, and records auditable agent actions. Read the public security overview and privacy policy for more detail.
